Hi everyone,

I have mba air 14 early, and this post may look like I'm in tears but in fact I am. I have mba since December 2014 so it is 3 years nearly. Around august battery in mba just broke - that's what I supposed at the time). MacBook only runs when is plugged to power adapter. After removing the power adapter it suddenly shuts down. Today I called apple authorized service, in which I was told that replacing the battery will cost around 50$ and battery itself around 210$ and the told me that it could be also a motherboard, so I kindly disconnected and removed it from my brain. I'm thinking what to do in that situation. I paste system raport from my mba, maybe somebody will know how to analyze this. It is in polish, but I think positions are the same in both languages :).
What should I do in this situation? I'm not sick to pay 260$ for battery, and I'm almost decided to buy battery from eBay or something like this hpingthat it will be good
Ps: When I click on battery on status bar it says condition: normal.

Obviously you are outside of the USA.

Here I believe Apple charges $200 to replace the battery, but the price is supposed to include the labor charge as well.

Doesn't leave the user a lot of options, if one has a battery that is nearing the end of its life.

The battery is very easy to replace in the MBA as the battery is not glued in place. It is held in place with 5 Philips screws.

Order a cheap battery from eBay or Amazon. I have used third-party batteries in two differen MBAs (mid 2013, early 2015) with absolutely no problems. The battery will come with the screw drivers to remove the bottom casing and battery screws.

Thanks guys for replies, but I figured that I was doing wrong smc reset. I was replacing ssd in my mba to 1 gb ssd from another MacBook, and from there I was experiencing problems with it. Few minutes ago I just reconnected battery from board, and held power button for 5 seconds. Now all works fine :D
Thanks for help, thread can be closed. Maybe it will help somebody in future.
Just make sure you disconnected battery and did smc reset. I held both power for 5 second without power adapter, or held shift+control+option+power for 5 seconds and then MacBook is doing great
Happy New Year to all forum users :)

Glad you got it working.

BTW, whenever removing the bottom cover from any Macbook, I recommend disconnecting the battery before proceeding to other tasks as dropping anything metal, such as a screw, onto a logic board with the battery connected could damage the capacitors, sensors, resistors, etc. on the board.

So today the problem occurred again. I was using battery, and it shut down itself at 70%. I powered it and again it was the same as before. It's sick
