iPod touch Specific Apps Question?

What's up guys...

I just registered, this place seems like the best for help with something like this. Is there any way to make the Now Playing box stay on the main screen without having to unlock the ipod? It's really annoying having to unlock the thing just to change the volume

Also, is there any kind of app that's a handy equalizer? The built-in one is pretty hidden back in the Settings menu.

To access the music controls without unlocking, simply press the power on/sleep button and double-click the home button.
