I purchased a regular candyshell last year and the rubber sides ended up flaking pretty bad. Do the newer ones like the satin, grip, regular candy shell have the same problem?

Thanks

They all have the issue. It's not a matter if, it's just a matter of when they will flake. Great case outside of that issue.

i confirm, great case outside flaking issues ... don't try to clean you screen !

i've used it since july 2011.

i ordered 2 days ago a Switcheasy ECLIPSE. That case seems to be good compromise between protection and smoothness.

I have a few different variations of the Candyshell and the only ones I have that flake are the ones with the gray rubber trim. The dark black doesn't seem to flake at all.

Speck has excellent customer service, so if you're still inside the one year warranty, contact Speck and they will give you a new replacement. I would ask for a different color combination - maybe one with the black or some other trim color.
