Hey everyone, I've just received my White iPhone 3GS and I now need the "perfect" case. After tons of research, I'm considering either the Speck Candyshell or the iSkin Solo FX case.
For those who've had experience with either or both of these cases, what do you recommend?

I've only had experience with the Speck Candy Shell, but it is an awesome case. Your phone will be well protected. The soft rubber interior makes it almost impossible that the case will scratch your phone. I like how the case feels very smooth. It's a bit bulky, but provides a great grip in the hand. It is easy to put a bunch of hairline scratches on the back, but better on the case than on the phone. Also, just be careful not to stretch the case too much while taking your phone in and out of the case and you should be able to avoid breaking the thin bottom piece or tearing the corners.

How much bulk does it add? I usually keep my phone in my jeans' pocket.

I have both and like both about equally. The Solo FX does appear to be a little bit less bulky, but I always feel a little more comfortable with the Candyshell on my phone if I'm going to be out in an environment where it could potentially get knocked around a little bit or possibly handled a bit roughly. It just feels sturdier to me.

That said, I just got a knockoff FX from Amazon today and LOVE IT. It's like a bright golden yellow and is exactly the color I've been looking for.

I have a Marware Flexishell, which is pretty much the same as the Candyshell but it doesn't have the nice rubber lining like the Candyshell.

I also have the Iskin solo. I really liked the Solo but after a while the junk and dust it collects around the flap that covers the top on the glass just got annoying. It's kind of hard to clean it the way the rubber covers the screen, it just gets a little messy.

The Flexishell and Candyshell have a nice open face, so with one swipe on my pant leg the phone front is spotless.

That's why I ordered the Candyshell, it has the open face style like my Flexishell with a better interior.

The ISkin is slimmer for sure, but I just got sick of it.

In terms of cases without holster, iSkin solo fx is my favourite. Its like a hybrid silicone-plastic case. Doesnt attract lint or anything, fits nicely into your iPhone(comes in and out easily) and has a slick circular design. Thus the colour that go along with the design are very vibrant. But price is slightly high though.

SpeckCandyShell is much more bulky and the back of the case will scratches over time. Fits nicely and definitely a bit more stylish whereas the iSkin is simple. But taking it off to clean the back of your iPhone is a pain. It's cheaper.

Up to you! I'd say iSkin

The Iskin material doesn't collect dust like silicon, but the front of the Iskin collects plenty of dust and traps face sweat in the corners.

These are 2 very different cases.

I have had 3 cadyshells, i really liked them but the bulk + scratching on the case itself + covered buttons = not good for me. not to mention its kind of a a pain to get on and off.

I have also had iskin solos and I think they offer a good choice of protection. I agree with the dust but i never found it to be a bother. Its a soft case that offers some shock protection but its kind of thin. So i would say it will not protect as much as a candyshell.

Myself, I have just gotten into slider cases, for a long time having hear that scratch you phone, and any case can do that really, I said WTH and tried one. I love them. They offer not much bulk, full coverage, and look great. I have 2 now and have taken them on and off a few dozen time with no scratching. Right now i have on an incase bamboo slider.

I use a Candyshell, and I do not mind the scratches on it at all. That's the point of having a case, to prevent the phone from getting scratched. You can't even see the scratches on mine unless you tilt it at an angle in bright light.
