My guess is by the time you can start ordering the specs will be out and then manufactures can adjust as needed.

The thing is, I'm not even sure if these specific cases will be adjusted because of the size of the opening on the side. Obviously cases such as the bumpers will have to be, because they don't include large openings for the buttons. I doubt that Speck would change these Fitted Cases, though, and just wanted to see what everyone thought regarding these specific cases.

I have the speck fitted from the free case program and it will likely not fit the Verizon iPhone.

The mute switch is ok since it is lowered but the "minus" volume button is lowered as well and will probably hit the bottom part of the case cutout.

Even if minus button does make it, it will look uneven and will be difficult to press sitting so close to the cutout.

Thanks so much for your input! Don't want to be a pain, but would there be any way you could measure the distance between the minus volume button and the edge of the case? Or at least estimate how many millimeters it is? I'm really set on getting one of these cases, and I'm not sure if Speck will update them (and if they do, if they'll be available on February 10).

It's ~2.5mm gap.

Judging by the pics, you would be cutting it close.

Try emailing Speck and see what they're up to regarding the Verizon version.

Ok, great. Thanks. I contacted them via their Twitter account a few days ago, but I should probably email them as well. I'll post here for anyone else interested when I get a reply.

If this picture is accurate, it makes me wonder if the previous picture is misleading, because it is taken at an angle. Maybe the buttons are moved even less than 2 mm...

Based on this photo, I'd have to say that these Speck Fitted cases won't be modified. It doesn't seem like they'd need to be.

Very true, looking at this new pic makes it clear that the pic I posted is misleading due to the angles.

That new photo shows a much clearer picture of how the buttons are.

You shouldn't have any problems.

So I got an official response from Speck. This is what I emailed them:

--Hi,
I just wanted to know whether or not you will be modifying the Fitted Cases for the iPhone 4 on Verizon, or if you will continue to sell those cases for the Verizon model as well? Thanks!--

And this is their reply:

--Yes, we are modifying our cases to fit the Verizon iPhone4. I do not have a date, however, on when these will be available.--

So, just to make things a little more confusing, it sounds like they may be modifying them. I did email back asking for clarification on whether or not they would be specifically modifying the fitted cases.

Just another update for anyone that might care...

Got another response from Speck, and the representative said that she wasn't sure if the Fitted cases would be updated for the Verizon iPhone 4. She did say, however, that even if they were, they wouldn't be ready at launch.

Because I need my new baby protected from day one, I went ahead and ordered the current Fitted case from them. Seems like it will work just perfectly! :D

I'm in the same boat, I'm trying to find a case so i can at least protect the phone when i get it. I bought some cheap bumpers and hope to modify them in the meantime.

Most compaines i have contacted so far all say they will be ready in the 1st month of release, but that does nothing for launch as of yet.

I'm going to order a Fitted from Zazzle.com, couple really cool designs I am trying to choose between. They seem to be fine with returns so worst case I will exchange it for a Verizon case. :)
