I have a Santa Rosa MacBook, and have a black Neoprene sleeve. It is great, but I want something that can offer protection while I am using it also. I have seen the Speck Hardshells at the Apple Store, and they look okay, but seem expensive and I have heard of them actually scratching the Macbook, and I am not sure they will look nice on a Black MacBook, anyone have one want to tell me how they are? Pictures of them on either a BlackBook or just a white MacBook would be great.

My local MUG has a coupla people with MacBooks and Speck cases. No pics, cause I don't like taking pictures of old people, but the cases do look nice.

i had one for about a week and then returned it-- obviously could not access battery underneath and it took me a while to pry it off the bottom case. Kind of a shame because it did look pretty cool.

How often do you need to get to the battery?

I got my Speck from Amazon and I am thoroughly pleased! It has protected my MBPro and kept it in like-new condition. I feel like the original batch had some issues that have been ironed out.

The biggest issue that I have faced with the hardcase is putting them on, and taking them off- the clips on the side are very tough, and if you are not VERY careful, you will end up scratching the laptop where the mounting clips are.

Maybe its just me being clumsy, but I have not been able to find out a better way to get it off/on.

I do not use it anymore... used it only for a couple of hours....

I bought a speck case for my Sister's (formerly my) MacBook. It's been very nice, especially for her since she doesn't really think about it scratching or anything

I travel quite regularly and the SpeckCase and saved my MBP from being scratched while it's being x-rayed separately at airports.
