Scored a Speck Smartshell 2 back protector for $5.82 from Amazon Warehouse Deals! It fits perfectly on my new iPad (gen 3)!!! I am kind of blown away that it fits, doesn't seem like it should. Debating putting a skinomi under it to protect the smart cover attachment. May even fit... There seems to be quite a bit of room underneath.
A few notes though... Case feels really flimsy. Would not be surprised if it chipped apart like my wife's Speck case on her mbp. Also some of the edges on the case really dig into your palm. Especially when holding it in landscape.
It has a soft touch which is nice but I have noticed that the soft touch paint wears off vey quickly from Speck products. Love the back magnet that holds the floppy smart cover back. The main reason this case is a keeper.
Wanted the Macally Smartmate3W othwise. Love the gloss white back on my white iPad.
