Spectre Challenger or VR, anybody?

A long, long time ago... there was a game for the Mac called "Spectre VR" which also had a demo version called "Spectre Challenger", a 3D battle tank game. I just got to thinking about it when I saw a similar game available on the App Store [Vector Tanks, iTunes link].

Does anybody remember this game, or know where I can find a copy? I've looked online everywhere, but most everything are years-old posts asking the same question. Any thoughts?
