VR Sports will be better than just 360 camera that you watch from.

I believe that they'll create a virtual arena, use the camera footage to make virtual replicas of the players (like the tech over at move.ai). Why?This will let you put the camera wherever you want, see live stats, experience what it feels like to be one of the players and much more.

Here's why I think this:
A company called 'Virtually Live' holds the patents for the above idea. They were releasing apps, improving the tech, getting contracts, etc. but dropped off the map in 2020. There's been no social media posts or (from what I can tell) updates to their apps. Even weirder is their patent has been regularly updated to as recent as Match 2023.

2020 is right around the same time apple bought the 2 other main VR Sports streaming apps. My guess is that apple bought/partnered with Virtually Live as a surprise for June.

I think a lot of companies dropped off the map in 2020. Live sports was dead that year, so this could have pushed back their ambitions a bit. I haven’t heard of them, but we’ll know soon enough about Apple’s plans with this new market they are entering. Since they already have an established App Store and media catalog, I think this gives them an advantage over the others on this space. Sports is certainly an area they are interested in, so we could see something with this soon.

This sounds like a good post processing experience. But not during the live game. I still think the love games will be spectator. But you will get to sit at many more locations. Maybe even referees will have helmets with 360 cameras
