for the past two days, I've been using speech recognition, mostly as a gag to show some friends, and to play a little chess. i think it's neat.

But now the speech recognizer doesn't seem to load. The little dish shaped window that has the microphone on it is nowhere to be found, and switching the controls in the preferences windows doesn't make it appear either. I searched everywhere on the disk for speakable items and I found what seemed to be a program but it doesn't reaveal the recognizer either. In the system preferences window, the window locks up when i try to calibrate the microphone - eventually it starts going again, or I have to shut it down with option apple escape.

I really enjoy this featue and want it to work properly. can anyone help me get it back?
