Speed affected by location services on

I tested my web speed using speedtest app. When location services was off (Kansas, 6:21 and 6:24), I got faster speeds. Turning it on(cocoa, FL - 6:23) got me slower speeds. Has anybody else noticed the same? I am using iPhone4s. Location - North of Orlando, FL.
Weird
