After seeing this video at Gizmodo, I'm a little hesitant in upgrading my friend's second generation iPod touch. Have any of you upgraders seen any major difference in speed? Thanks.

I dont have an ipod touch but ive heard of better battery life but no difference in processor speed.

Launch times are much greater, and games drop frames like crazy, don't even try to play Tap Tap Revenge, for example.

Don't do it, iOS 4 is a slow piece of crap on iPod touch 2G.

+1 on this! I have had 4 diffrent occasions where my ipod has crashed while just switching songs. The only big change I have found is the way an album is laid out when selecting songs. As of right now I wish I had not upgraded. Anyone know a way back to 3.1.3?

Just restore.

Yeah tried that, Problem is it says "The iPod "XXXX" could not be restored. This device isn't elegible for the requested build. Trying to restore to 3.1.3 for 2g ipod. I dunno lol.

Sorry dont know what else you can do.

The first time I used it after the upgrade, it froze. But after, it has felt faster everywhere. Quitting apps, loading apps, zomming in/out of webpages.

I can't say about the battery life, I haven't used it much. But it definitely feels faster.:)
