Speed / performance of refurb Macbooks?

I'm looking into buying a refurbished MacBook off the apple store so I'm just wandering.
Do they perform well
Are they fast
I have a pretty big music library so I guess i'm just wandering if it's worth the money.
And i'm in high school and just want a new laptop and I'm using my money so is it worth it?

The only MacBooks Apple has on their reburb store are the latest models, so yes, they are fastest as they are the latest.

8 GB of aftermarket RAM and a 7200 RPM hard drive that's easily upgradeable. Can we say fast lappy?
