Hey all.

How about we post some speedtests to see what the areas are like in the uk?

I'll start

Network - o2
iPhone 4
Darlington

Two runs this morning, roughly 3.2 Mbps down, 1.6 Mbps up. Latency was around 250ms.

iPhone 4 on O2 in London (E1)... the signal is only 3 bars but speed still seems quite acceptable.

Wow, mine's terrible:

With FULL 5 bars of 3G on T-Mobile, north London:
0.25 Mbps down
0.05 Mbps up

But when it's actually loading simple pages, its not that terribly slow (or maybe I just don't know any better ) and the signal is very reliable in most places so it does what I need it to do for now.

Hubby has taken his new iphone 4 to work in dunstable today. He usually gets good 3g with his 3gs phone. The bars are full and 3g is written by the indicator but he can't get on youtube or stream anything.

O2 by the way.

normally get around 1 to 2Mbit down and 1Mbit up around SE London and Central london on O2

very good if you ask me. If only they would not compress images and youtube though :(

O2 in High Wycombe. iPhone 3G.
This is why I am going to Vodafone (when they get iPhone 4 stock).
The speed is poor, really poor.

Network: Vodafone

Location: Manchester

This test was done from home, when I was at work on Thursday I ran a speed test and it came back with a 6000kbps download speed, now is that even possible over a 3G connection?
