So a little bit ago, I tried Sierra on my MBA 2,1. It's snappy, very snappy. Except it technically doesn't support my MBA, the wifi card specifically. So until I buy a new wifi card, I am stuck using El Capitan.

Because someones gonna say it, no I am not upgrading my macbook air. For heavy things, I have my iMac 7,1 which is on El Capitan anyway.

Don't get me wrong, the performance of El Capitan isn't terrible but its not exactly amazing either. Which some of you might say "go back to Mavericks,Mountain Lion, etc", I'd rather stay on OS X 10.11 for now. I also have a partiton for Snow Leopard in case El Cap isn't working out for me with what I'm doing.

So the question is, is there anything I can do to optimize or speed up El Capitan? Like tweaks?

For example, disabling spotlight? does that do anything like it used to in let's say Leopard on a PPC Mac?

Graphical features that can be disabled?

Thanks!
