Speeding up track in GarageBand

Hey all

a friend sent me a .mp3 file of a theme song and asked me to speed it up to 1.5 or double speed. I tried adjusting tempo but it doesn't seem to do much. Can I do this in GB?

You might be able to do it in Garageband, however I've never used GB for that. If I need to change the tempo of a song, I use Audacity (which is free). In Audacity, you import the track, select all, then choose effect "change tempo" (or something like that). Then there are several ways of entering what you want.
