Wondering if anyone has had experience with the Spigen Slim Armor CS would like to share?

Would you say the compartment slider panel that holds the credit cards is durable?

Has anyone had it break or cave in, etc?

Has anyone had one drop on its back and then the slide panel break off ?

Are the sides of the case more slippery or rubbery would you say?

Will I have any problems wireless charging with my Mophie if 2 plastic cards are in front of it?

I’m really digging the thought of my ID and credit card with my phone so I can get rid of having my wallet with me at times. I already have my store loyalty cards saved in my ewallet. I’ve also left the house without my wallet many times but my phone was always in my front pocket. Lol.

This will be my first Spigen case so I’m a bit reluctant. I enjoy my otterbox symmetry case and the Spigen Slim Armor CS is similar with one extra perk I could really use. I’m worried it’s more gimmick than something long lasting.

I’ve had this case now for 5 days and it’s a very nice case. I got the all black. I’m going to pick it apart and explain it best I can.

Previous to this I had an otterbox symmetry for the last 3 phones. I really like the smooth Slim type of profile and great protection. Spigens CS is slightly thicker than symmetry’s profile.

Spigen Slim Armor CS has a premium, very smooth feel all around plastic and on the back a section that’s has space to fit 2 plastic type cards.

I noticed it shows fingerprints on the back slider if you have “greasy hands” like after eating a burger or chips while handling your phone. My otterbox was more of a hard “rubber” plastic which hid prints easily. Fingerprints are easily wiped off on the CS back with microfiber cloth I use on my display with no problem.

The CS isn’t a fingerprint magnet, I’m not saying that at all. I’m just saying that if you’re sloppy when you eat, you may want to clean your hands before picking up your phone again, where other cases are more forgiving. Under normal circumstance there’s no fingerprints issues aside if you have sweaty hands. Overall the Slim Armor CS feels like a premium case for my premium phone.

I can see the back of the case probably getting scratched if I had it in the same pocket as keys for example or drop to rough cement surface because of the hard plastic backing.

It feels ever so slightly heavier than my symmetry but obviously because the CS has a little bit more space on the back between the phone to fit those two plastic cards, including those cards now.

The casing around the speakers, lightning port, power button, and camera holes are fitted very well. The CS has flushed downward edges and not ‘lipped” edges which collects dust like my Symmetry did in between. Good job here. :)

The edges around the display don’t have as much depth as my previous case but enough to where if I flat dropped it on the screen it would not touch the display. It’s neatly lined up snug against the rim to display, aesthetically a bit nicer looking than my previous case IMO. The camera on the other hand is deep inside the case and depth has no issues with photography, very well safe.

Having said this, the best part about this Spigen is having an ID and credit card on my phone with me at all times and no need for my wallet. I have a bad habit of leaving the house and getting to a store and realizing I didn’t bring my wallet with me but always have my phone.

I purchased $1.99 app called Pass2U. I scanned my store loyalty cards and saved them electronically in my iPhone wallet. I have 12 store loyalty cards and 1 store gift card that I used to carry around in my bulky wallet which is now all on my iphone. :D

In places where there’s Apple Pay it’s so easy to just hold my phone, have them scan my loyalty card and then Apple Pay for it in one hand seamlessly.

I haven’t done a drop test but it does say military grade. I feel “somewhat” confident it could withstand a drop, this is my first Spigen and don’t drop my phone often. I’m just not sure if the back cover that holds the plastic cards would break off if it fell directly on it or not and if it did fall, from what height would it take. I can only speculate and not willing to try. :p

It also charges through my drivers license and credit card inside the phone case when on my ‘wireless’ Mophie 7.5 watt Charger with no problems. o_O

So despite the very slight down side, if you could call it that, I feel the advantage's of the ID slot and being wallet free outweigh them easily.

I could recommend the Slim Armor CS to other members if they were interested in wallet freedom. :apple:
