Spike in speeds

Ok this is really lame. If i leave my phone untouched in my apartment on my desk i get about 3-4 bars with edge, while 3g is enabled. I ran a speed test and i get on average 60 kbps. Now if i turn 3g off, then back on i get 1 bar with the 3g icon. I ran a speed test and i get about 320 kbps. the phone is in exactly the same spot on my desk. Then 5 min later it goes back down to 3-4 bars with edge and 160 kbps. WTF???!!!!! It is untouched!!

Now if i have wifi on i get 929 kbps on average. The router is right below the phone. I have comcast.

Do i have a defective iphone or something? Seems like my 3g signal is screwed up.

how do you get 351 KB/sec on wifi? what kind of interwebz connection is that?

Ok i get 2.2 Mb/sec (2257 Kb/sec) on my desktop with a wired connection. Who do you have for an internet provider.
