Hi all,

MY g/f recently spilled some coffee on her macbook. I had her do all the things that should be done in a spill (turn off immediately, wipe up what you can, turn it upside down to drain any liquid that can be drained). We turned it on later (24 hrs) and everything seemed to be fine. However, upon further messing with the machine, we discovered that the spacebar doesnt work. It doesnt feel sticky or anything, it just refuses to work. I am going to attempt to clean it, but wanted to know if a non-working key is indicative of broken-ness making my attempt at cleaning pointless.

I feel like if the liquid was somehow shorting the key, it would act as if it were being constantly pressed.

Anyway does a non-working key mean the thing is broken aka making my cleaning attempts pointless, or do I stand something to gain from cleaning.

Thanks for any help
