So I am a clutz and spilled green tea on my mac book pro, didn't seem like much and I was able to wipe down right away.

The next day my boyfriend not knowing what happened tried to fire it up a few times and it did not work at all, I called him and told him remove battery and leave alone we turned it on it's side and waited about 4 days to try again.

Monday came and no power:( So I hear mac does not cover water damage with warranty??? Any insight or experience you may have will be greatly appreciated before I stroll in to the genius bar today?

check and see if your credit card company covers it, sometimes they cover accidental damage dont feel alone, we get at least one post per day of someone spilling something on their notebooks

and as i say in every post like this DONT DRINK NEAR YOUR LAPTOP

and hey, you could be this person their notebook was only 4 days old

Sorry, your SOL. Unless it doesn't show water damage and you lie to them. But good luck.

next time immediately pull the battery out and magsafe power and flip the computer over in the event of the spill and let dry for days.

I think the second mistake you made was continuing to use the computer.

at least the macbook/pros have removable batteries. If you have an Air you're SOL.

There should be a sticky about spilling drinks/other accidents on laptops.

Bottom Line: Warranty does not cover accidents.

I have a 4' rule..No food or drink within 4' of my MBP.

+1 on that!

I have become so harsh with this rule, because it has become almost too easy to accidently spill stuff on my laptop.

To the OP, I wish I knew of some way but unfortunately I don't. Hopefully it'll magically start functioning again.

L M A O - but seriously I place my sealed togo cup behind my laptop. When I sip I reach and perform a sweeping motion around the laptop, twisting my body away from the workstation and repeat.
