Spinning Grey Apple - 24" iMac

Our brand new (only 11 hours old!) iMac is stuck on reboot at the spinning grey apple "beach ball".

Can I force it to move past this?
(There is also a disk in the slot loading drive)

Hold the mouse button while booting the computer - this will eject the disk.

That may solve the problem.

Wait, has the iMac already rebooted? Or is it still shutting down? Cause there is no cursor during the early boot grey apple (and it doesn't spin). Otherwise just hit the power button (might have to hold it down) and give it another try.
