I have a 2013 Imac 27" running the latest software version (Mavericks 10.9.3) and have just one really odd issue that I need some help with as it is driving me nuts. I use Text Edit a lot but I am finding that 5 out of ten times, when I go to save a file name that I wish to call the document, I get a multicoloured spinning wheel on the screen and everything becomes unresponsive. The only way out of it (and I have tried waiting over an hour to see if its just time it needs) is to go to the Finder icon on the bottom left of the task bar, luckily the spinning wheel stops when I move the mouse over it and I can right click on the Finder icon and restart Finder. This works fine and is the only way I can get it all to work again. If I manage to get a force quit box open which is difficult but I have managed it a few times with various manic mouse clicking, it states that "Finder is not responding" so that is the issue as the Text Edit programme does not show a non responsive issue, just Finder. I don't have this problem with any other app or programme only Text Edit and yes I have already gone to Disk Manager and repaired all of the permissions etc. I'm pretty much out of ideas here and wonder if anyone can help me .

Thanks in advance
