Spirit JB Ipod Touch 3G 32gb - possible to update & remain JB'd?

Hi - seeing some confusing info through searching the net about this issue. I am on os 3.1.3 and have spirit jailbroken ipod touch 3g. Is it possible to update to 4.01 and remain jailbroken or will I lose Cydia and all apps?

Also is it worth upgrading to 4.01? I'm not sure what benefit I'd get from multi tasking. The only problem I have now is that many apps from installous come up as invalid.ipa - is there a cure for this?

Upgrade to 4.1, you'll lose your jailbreak, but then jailbreak with Limera1n or Greenpois0n.

(There are plenty of tutorials for Greenpois0n and Limera1n out there)
