Spirit work on baseband 05.12.01?

Hey guys,

Considering jailbreaking my 3.1.3 3GS on the latest baseband. Just wanted to check, it will work on the new baseband wont it?

The only role the baseband version plays is whether or not you can unlock.

You can jailbreak it with Spirit.

I have a 3GS 3.1.3 with the same modem firmware as you and i jailbroke it 2day with spirit so fire ahead

just to CONFIRM, i have the 3gs iphone, 3.1.3, Baseband 05.12.01 and i can confirm that the SPIRIT jailbreak does work.
Shochked that it only took 5 seconds to jail break !!!

Yes, when I did this a few days ago it was amazing how fast it went on my iPad! I'm used to pwnage; creating a custom ipsw and then restoring my phone. Enjoy this one while it lasts!

Untethered as this is a userland jailbreak, not a bootland.

The baseband has NOTHING to do with jailbreaking, only unlocking. Spirit will jailbreak your device since it's on 3.1.3, though.

But right now, you can't unlock 05.12.01 for use with another carrier (using ANY available tools).

Exactly.
And its an untethered JB even if you had a tethered 3GS with the new bootrom before.
