I updated to SplashID v6 (password manager) a few weeks ago only to find out that some useful features had been removed and that I could no longer sync to the Mac version without buying an upgrade!
I went online looking for answers and noticed lots of angry 1-star reviews from people with similar gripes.

SplashData released another update to I went back to see if it addressed my issues. It does not! However, in the last few days there are literally hundreds of reviews wildly exaggerating the product, you would swear SplashID could cure cancer!

What is going on here?????

I use to use SplashID, moved over to 1Password.

1Password is a much better app and the sync with Mac is smooth as silk.
I was very sceptic about getting 1Password, now i cant believe i waited that long.

Devs at SplashID are constantly charging more money for updates that you need to perform to sync with Mac/PC, I had to delete it, i didn't feel like i wanted my email address linked to my personal info.

Spend the extra $$ and get 1Password.

I read about an app developer that was busted for using a PR firm to publish fake reviews. If there is a sudden spike in positive reviews, then it sounds like these guys may have hired the same firm. FYI, I use Datavault and couldn't be happier, regular updates & no surprises.

Thanks for the the response. SplashID used to get about 10 reviews per month but they have over 400 in the last month!!! They went from 10/month to over 400/month???

Are there really PR firms that companies can pay to publish fake reviews?

I also used to use SplashID (when my smartphones were Palm OS based).

+1 for 1Password, very active development team, responsive user support and a great product.

Thanks, but I'm not really interested in suggestions for other products right now.

What I would to know is if people think this huge spike in reviews for SplashID is legitimate or fake.
