I've started using the splashtop pc remote app on my ipad but my old laptop 1.83ghz core duo 2gb memory doesn't seem to be powerful enough to run the streamer smooth enough for video So flash and anyother type of video is a no go.

Can anyone advise on the system reqirements needed to run the splashtop streamer(pc) smooth enough for watching smooth flash video etc on my ipad?
As im considering buying a dedicated machine for this use

i have a 2011 13" macbook pro and it still sucks with video...not smooth at all.
I'm on lion right now and I remember it was working just fine last year (I had a 2010 13" macbook pro on snow leopard) :(

FTR - It works very well streaming from my 2.0 ghz Core 2 Duo 2gb Mac Mini. It does stress the CPU pretty hard, so the 1.83ghz core duo may just be over taxed. (I understand that you are using a PC, not a Mac).

You could try changing the quality to smooth. You will get more compression artifacts, but it will play smoother. Also try lowering the resolution on the host (you can set the connection to do this automatically).

Keep in mind that Splashtop intentionally buffers the output order to keep audio and video in sync. As a side effect this does introduce some lag.

Works perfectly with my 6 year old PC, and my newer computers of course. I LOVE it!

well, now it's not working at all on my 2011 mbp after updating lion to 10.7.1. I get audio, but video is just a black screen
