Hello,

I am about to pull the trigger on an expensive "Split Mini" AC unit for my house. The brands I am looking at are:

Fujitsu
Daikin
Mitsubishi

It is very difficult to tell, but which brand has the best HomeKit (or any HomeKit) integration?

Thanks,
Richard

You may want to consider buying the unit you actually want, versus buying for homekit support.

Then use something like a Sensibo to control the unit in Homekit.

would sensible allow the split mini ac to be seen in the home app? Or would I need to use the sensibo app ?

As it turns out I'll be getting Mitsubishi Split Mini's, and they will have a WIFI dongle installed.
My contractor said that they will work with an Ecobee Thermostat, and I would need to setup IFTT?

Or is Sensible the best route?

Thanks,
R

When I got my heat pump installed (has wifi module installed), I thought I would really need it to be in the Homekit system. Turns out, I rarely adjust it (it's a heat pump after all), and the Fujitsu app works fine.

On another note, it is best to use the manufacturer's controller as they are designed as "communicating systems". The Ecobee may not be a communicating controller with Mitsubishi.

I hear ya.
I have the mini’s installed.
Now I am tasked with replacing my nest, which will soon be discontinued, with a HomeKit thermostat that works WITHOUT a “c” wire, my old house only has two wires to the thermostat….

And for that, i am open to suggestions….

Thank you Mac community for all,
R.

I thought that Ecobee came with an adapter to install for when C-wire wasn’t available, since I had to use it at my old house. Fortunately, my current house has the C-wire at both thermostats.

Not sure if this is helpful at all but I use a Mysa split/AC thermostat to control my portable AC unit in the summer and also use their thermostats for baseboard heaters in the winter. They both work with HomeKit, however I don't know if this is what you're looking for.
