Think of this as a preventative post... I don't want to screw things up before I post here...:p

I was quickly filling up my iBook's HD with all manner of stuff, but a whole lot of it music. So I went out and got a very nice LaCie external drive. So far it is wonderful! My question is this: Is there a way to split my iTunes library b/t the iBook and the external? I want to be able to take part of my library w/ me when I am away from the LaCie, while storing the overflow on the external and play all of the songs when I have it all connected. How do I do this? Thank you in advance for what I would guess will be a simple answer...

In the preferences of iTunes, you want to deselect "copy song files to iTunes music folder" or something like that. Drag all the song files you don't want on your iBook over to the external harddrive and you should be all set.
