Split payment with Apple Card payments and gift card?

Does anyone know if in the US I can use an Apple Account Balance to pay for part of my order and finance the rest using Apple Card monthly payments? I know I can't do it on the website, but if I call them after preordering next week with Apple Card payments, do you think they could adjust and apply the account balance after the fact? I have a large Apple Account Balance right now but not large enough to cover a pro. I am in grad school and have been waiting for the new pros to come out - it would be really nice to make monthly payments on the remainder instead of paying it all in one month.

I called today as I had traded in my Mac in store rather than online as I've heard of people having mishaps with online trade ins. When calling today they let me know you cannot do Apple Card Monthly Payments and a gift card balance in one order. The only option I was given was to split gift card and Apple Card(this would have interest if I don't pay off immediately). Honestly, this isn't noted anywhere on the website or known by any sales associate in store. On the phone they had no other options for me, even with a gift card balance of $1210 which was the value of the machine I turned in.
