So I can’t seem to figure this out in iOS 11. If I am on the home screen and want to use two different apps in split screen, how to I pick those two apps? I know how to do it from the dock, but I don’t want to put every app possible in my dock. Sometimes I want to pull an app from the home screen to split screen.

With one finger, hold on the app icon until it allows you to move it around on the home screen, then with another finger, click on the 2nd app which will then open full screen while allowing you to move the 1st app to either side of the full screen app to then create the split screen view.

How does that work? If you press & Hold on an icon it does as you say but doing this drops you into the Move/Delete App mode, nothing to do with Load Mode.

I just tried it and it works great. Don’t press and hold. Press then move or drag. The gesture would be similar to if you were moving an app to the dock....but of course, you don’t move the icon all of the way into the dock. Rather, you press another app to open. It takes two hands.

Thanks for the help! Also because I have the Smart Keyboard, I can hit command and spacebar to get spotlight search to come up anywhere. From there you can search for the 2nd app you want, and then drag to make it split screen. Works great.
