First of all I want to thank those that helped me to figure out how to edit the video after I copied it from a VCR to my computer with Imovie 11 now I would like to know how to make 2 DVD out of the project if it is longer than the 2 hours that a DVD will allow, I will try to do this with IDVD

You'll have to split it into two Projects in iMovie. The easiest way is to duplicate your Project, delete the first half from one and then the second half from the other, then Share each to iDVD.

Why not just use a dual/double layer dvd and fit the whole thing on one dvd?

Or,
You could use Toast Titanium, which will take the video file and split it for you on 2 discs automatically.

What's the total duration of the video? You could also adjust the encoding bitrate in iDVD so that all of your video will fit on the same disc.

Depending on the duration, you probably won't notice a huge difference in quality, considering it's a VHS transfer.
