Splitting Clips?

Hey everyone

I had a 20 min recording in 720p, i stuck it in imovie cut all the bad bits out and put a title on then exported it as a 720p again

Anyway the video is still 1gb, is there any software i can use to simply split the clip up? into part 1 and part 2 etc?

iMovie will not delete original footage unless you tell it to. If the 20 minutes clip is 1GB in size (quite small for 720p and 20 minutes) and only used partial in the timeline, the file will not be touched or modified, only read, therefore it will stay the size it is.
If you want to split files, you could use QT Player or MPEG Streamclip or export the split half you want to use from iMovie and delete the original.

Ill give QT player a go.. im not too fussed about size just wanted to put my movie into parts..
