Me and a friend are trying to edit the audio track of a movie, and we were wanting to split the video into smaller clips as the original film is 3 hours long.

GarageBand does not handle a movie of this size very well so our intent is to split it.

How do I do this and is there a better way?

Cheers

you can "split" audio in imovie.... click the audio track and select split at playhead or somehting like that...

Can also be done in good old quicktime. Open the movie, go to the window menu and click on show movie properties, there it gives you the 2 tracks, click on the audio track and click the export button at the top of the window, and there u go, seperated audio track.
