I am restoring an old machine for a media server of sorts, and i want to make it accesible from an LCD Display at the desktop as well as to a television. The video card has vga output, and ADC output.
My question is can connect to a monitor through VGA and use this adapter, to connect to the tv through DVI at the same time, or would I need to connect one cable or the other based on which display i wanted to use?

Ok, if you aren't using an Apple display with the ADC connector, and you use the adapter you chose, you can connect a standard DVI computer monitor. Then, if you have a VGA to ______ adapter you can connect to your tv as well.

So i can run video out both ports at the same time?

I also just thought off another detail. If i want the computer to display correctly on the tv (via DVI), i need to get an widescreen lcd for the desk with that will run on VGA. correct?

thanks ahead for any help.
