I finally made the change to the dark side :apple: by purchasing my first Mac, can't wait for it to get here!!

I ended up going with a New Unibody MacBook Pro for various reasons and because the money was available to do so.

Being that it is my first Mac, anyone have any good websites for beginners with Macs? Or any recommended software/accessories I should look into?

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice :D

To name a few a few good programs:

Adium (IM Client)
Perian (QT Plugin that lets you watch just about anything)
VLC (a good backup in case Perian can't decode something)
Onyx (Great maintenance utility)
Handbrake (to encode dvds/etc)

Enjoy!

go to pure-mac.com for all sorts of software ideas. though many of them cost money, you can find free apps or trials of things you might like.

I have Handbrake, Transmission (for torrents), Adium. You should get Audacity too if you for any reason need to edit audio, it's free.

I think you should do a clean install and install Vista. Its pretty good!

Nah, only kidding. Here is a good site for Mac Freeware. Have a dig about and try to find something interesting.
