Sporadic loginwindow crash

I use the Accounts Menu Extra to lock my screen by returning to the Login Window. Most of the time, this works great—except when it hangs at the blue screen forever. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes the cube will rotate, the screen will be blue, but...it stays that way. I've tried waiting, but it doesn't go away. I've also tried ssh from another machine, but it doesn't seem to be able to log in. A crash log for loginwindow gets created when it happens, but it's not very revealing.

Has anyone else seen this?
