Just curious how the sport loop is for long term? About sideways forces and how durable is the Velcro? Not sure if I'm going to switch from the sport band or try the sport loop.

I've been rocking the same fabric sport loop band since launch day for the series 5 four years ago. It's been incredibly durable, and the Velcro still holds fine. There is some very minor fraying along the edge of the band in a couple of spots, but much less than I'd expect after four years of continuous wear. With Apple's pivot to carbon neutrality, I've read that the new sport loops are made with a lot of recycled material including discarded fishing nets, so I can't say if they'll wear the same. They are incredibly comfortable. I just chose the Nike sport loop for my new series 9.

After seeing Apple_Roberts comment, I took another look at my old band, and what I called fraying was actually just a couple of threads sticking out at the edge. Snipped them off with scissors, and now the band shows no sign of wear. To reiterate, a very durable and comfortable choice.

I am curious on how often do u guys clean the sports loop & what procedure to follow.. also how much time does it take to dry if soaked in water..

My sport loops have been durable. Cleaning entails rinsing with water, pat dry with a towel, wear it and it dries fairly quickly. They don’t retain much water. Haven’t paid enuf attention to quantify the time to dry, sorry.

I clean the band with either an old undershirt or a microfiber towel moistened with water, and then dry it with an unmoistened section of cloth. Since my band is black/navy that is sufficient, but Apple mentions in their care instructions that you can use a mild hypoallergenic hand soap if needed. Like deeddawg said, these bands don't retain much water.

Yep always patted mine dry with a towel though the colour has faded a little over the year. Velcro has been very good.

Got a new midnight black one with my Series 9 now though so the first one can go out to pasture.

I have had sport loops since they were released and have accumulated 20+ …. I rotate them so none have worn out. I’ve just bought 2 of the new Nike sport loops for use with my new S9. Very comfortable and easy to adjust for any situation.

As for cleaning them, I usually just get in the shower with one on if it needs to be cleaned.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Sport loops. I have a few but dislike the way they seem to bunch up around the side where the material slips though the watch band connector. I find I need to fiddle with it a few times to get it to lay flatter and not bunchy and too open. I wish they folded over more like the renderings on Apple's website, to be honest.

That said, the infinite size adjustment is a huge plus and they're comfortable.

The Trail loop and Alpine loop bands for my new Ultra 2, however, don't seem to bunch up nearly as much.
