I use Spotlight extensively

I just noticed that SL doesn't find ANY entry in my address book any more
Even copying an entry and pasting into SL and nothing comes up

I have verified the tick is still in look in Address book in preferences

Anyone else seeing this?

Try re-indexing your drive: Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes

If that fails to index, enter the following command in Terminal:
sudo mdutil -i on "/Volumes/your drive name"

I suspect I didn't do it quite right
I searched on This Mac for Address Book

Only item that is obviously not a tiny doc or a PDF or an image is the Address Book Application
I drug it in and then - it and no change
Looked in Library and didn't see a folder there

Did I select correct file/folder?

Thanks

I have no idea how to even access terminal and sure would like to avoid it, looks like a windows/dos thing

Drag your Macintosh HD from your Desktop to the Spotlight Privacy tab in System Preferences, as specified in step 4 in the link I posted. Then drag it back out.

Thanks!!

That did it

It was necessary to drag HD in there but had to - it out, no dragging out
Bottom line, your tip did it!
