I’ve got a question for those of you using AirPods Pro 3 with Spotify.

The AirPods’ built-in adaptive EQ is fine, but it doesn’t really match the way I like to hear music. I know a lot of people say not to mess with Spotify’s EQ since the AirPods are already adjusting on their own—but once I started tweaking Spotify’s EQ, the sound became way better for my taste.

So here’s what I’m wondering:

  • Why do some people recommend avoiding Spotify’s EQ with the AirPods?
  • Is there an actual technical reason not to do it? Or is it just one of those “if it sounds good, it’s good” situations?
Curious to hear how others handle this: do you leave the EQ off, or do you dial in Spotify to get the sound you want?
