So I've had a Spotify account for around 20 years now. Paid maybe 4-5 years, rest using the "free" tier.
All those years Spotify has kept my playlists, so if/when I feel like listening to music a lot I pay for it for a period of time.
When I got a good deal on Apple Music I thought I'd give it a try, so spent a lot of time converting/migrating playlists from Spotify to Apple Music.
The I went into a period again where I didn't listen to much music, so canceled the subscription.

Now that I felt like listening some more again, I activated my Apple Music account and found all my playlists were gone!
Seems Apple deletes everything after a period of inactivity.
Don't they realize this will drive people to other services? No way I'm spending time converting playlists again, I'll go back to Spotify.

I also like to switch between services from time to time and it's very annoying that playlists and albums are not kept in Apple Music. Both Spotify and Tidal saves them.

Yeah I don't get apples logic. It's not like it'll cost them a lot to store them. Probably a few kilobytes of storage.
Im paying for iCloud storage for gods sake, put those kilobytes there or whatever.

Maybe they're thinking people will refrain from canceling the subscription. Maybe that's true for a few, but only if you know that beforehand..
