Spotify now supports Siri voice commands on any Apple Watch running watchOS 6, as spotted by 9to5Mac.

With the latest version of the app, rolling out on the App Store, Apple Watch users can say "Hey Siri, play music on Spotify" or any other voice command with "on Spotify" to control Spotify playback without opening the app directly.

Spotify gained Siri support on iPhones and iPads as of iOS 13 after Apple opened up its SiriKit framework to third-party music, podcasts, audiobooks, and radio apps.

Is it able to stream music and save offline music playlist yet without an iPhone yet? As I own a Cellular S5, the ability of taking my Series 5 on its own and stream music without bringing the iPhone along was the last point to switch to Apple Music.

I hope we see offline playback and hopefully even streaming with WatchOS 7. Or was it already made possible with WatchOS 6, and the hold up is with Spotify?

Gotcha, so this isn't Apple being anti-competitive, but rather Spotify has just been lazy. Therefore, we should hopefully expect to see this functionality before the new suite of Apple software launches Fall 2020.

Unfortunately not working for me... Says I need to verify my accounts details in the app? Swedish Siri

I swear to Glob that I have been using Spotify on my Apple Watch for the past year...

EDIT: I’m dumb. My dyslexic butt glossed over “Siri support”.
