In our office a small team of us have our own premium Spotify accounts. We all share a collaborative playlist over a speaker that is plugged into one laptop via USB.

This means only one person can mute, play or skip the song as only their computer is connected to speakers and the other Spotify accounts are 'blind' to what is currently playing.

Other than SONOS app (and speaker) how else could we all use our own log in but have Spotify sync to a speaker so that we can all see what is currently playing etc?

The solutions doesn't need to be cable free.

Why not setup the Spotify machine for remote desktop access and then folks can remote in whenever they want to see/adjust the music?

Note: you can run the Spotify "machine" inside a VM on any computer on your network, so you don't necessarily have to spy on each other's real work/screens for this to work. The VM can be given direct access to the USB speakers and you never have to plug/unplug them for someone else to take control of the music.

Leaving the realm of software ghetto rigs I'd really suggest you just get a dedicated speaker or receiver that has Spotify built-in.
