Spotlight comments on AEBS

When searching for files on a USB drive that is connected to my Airport Extreme Base Station, Spotlight only find files based on filename but not according to what is written in the Spotlight comments section of each file. Is this a bug or does Spotlight not bother indexing these airport drives correctly does anyone know?
