Hi,

I upgraded to Mavericks the day it came out and I've started seeing this problem since yesterday. I am getting about 4 hours of battery life where I used to get 7-8 doing the same work in Mavericks.

Mavericks showed that the "Apps Using Significant Energy" had only "Spotlight" listed in it. I checked but there was no indexing going on as the indexing was already done right after the upgrade.

I then checked the Activity Monitor and here's what I saw:

Is anyone having the same issue or is it just me?

Still having this issue. Can anyone help?

Make sure you have a backup, then do a command-r boot to recovery. Start Disk Utility and do a repair disk on your main drive. Then quit Disk Utility and reboot.

Now enter the command below in Terminal to reindex Spotlight. Wait for the reindex to complete then recharge and see how battery life holds up

Code:
sudo mdutil -E /

You will be prompted for your password when you enter this command.

Saw some errors (http://d.pr/i/rmO5/2Evc7ZrO) and the used space also decreased from 82GB to 76GB! Spotlight is currently indexing so will test the battery life tomorrow in college and let you know.

Thank you very much!

Edit: Everything is perfect for now! Back to 8 hours battery life :)
Thanks again!
