Spotlight extremely slow

Whenever I use spotlight, it takes up to 10 seconds before the results populate. I've already tried reindexing Spotlight and this does not resolve the issue. Is anyone also experiencing this or know how to fix this? I have the 2020 MBP with 4 TB ports.

I have downloaded some apps but to narrow down which one it could be might be hard. I did install Alfred which is very fast but not sure if this would affect spotlight making it slow. When I enter something in Spotlight it now takes about 4 to 10 seconds to show any result.

I've been having this problem since at least Big Sur if not the previous OS. I usually use it to search contacts quickly. It now takes at least 10 seconds before results are populated. Old OSes would start populating after each letter was typed.

I’ve been on macOS Monterey for over a week now and spotlight results no longer take seconds. Worth upgrading if you’re experiencing this issue.

Yeah this started with my Catalina system recently too! So I’m not crazy! I even tried reindexing and it didn’t fix things.
