I am not a big user of Spotlight, as I generally know where all my files are, but a problem I am having is, when I click the Spotlight button, the little search field pops up about halfway down my screen with squared off corners. Any thoughts on why this is happening?

repair permissions? try switching resolutions to a diff one then back again..
