Mostly after restarts, sometimes Spotlight keep indexing,, not from begging, but left off after finishing prior:

I think its only on Macintosh HD mostly, because i have USB unplugged, and it happens..

- I've tried dragging HD to System Preferences >> Spotlight (and/or
- ran from Terminal: sudo mdutil -E /

Restarted Mac, and allowed to re-index HD..

Is still re-indexng.

It finishes indexing, but when restart Mac i may see it again.

Any other solutions?

My "solution" (which I first implemented years ago) was to DISABLE SPOTLIGHT completely and forever.

I use other utilities for searching on the Mac...

How long does the re-indexing run after a restart?

Only abut 30 seconds or so

Its not a full re-index. just part of one. but can be annoying as it happens sometimes.

Update: It seems to be ok now.. kinda cleared up on it's own, but i'll see it it happens again.

That all depends on your system specs & what type of drive you have. I really wouldn't worry.
