Spotlight Menubar Icon Not Glitch

Recently, I noticed that the menubar icon for spotlight seems to be missing the handle of the magnifying glass. Any ideas on what's causing this? I tried killing the Spotlight app in terminal, but it just restarts spotlight with the same problem.
