Im running snow leopard. I noticed spotglitg is not showing a few items created on may 13 (2 days ago) it shows everythign fine from before and after. If I rename the item, it goes to spotlight. On that day, my HD went full, but I cleared some 10 GB after.

Is there a script I can run on Terminal to make spotlight make a complete check of my files and catalog the missing files?

Edit: I notice Time Machine did bacukp the files even tought missing from spotlight.

Not sure about SL, but on ML you can force a reindex by doing the following:

  1. From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click Spotlight.
  3. Click the Privacy tab.
  4. Drag a folder or an entire volume (your hard drive) to the list.
  5. If prompted for confirmation, click OK.
  6. Remove the item or volume you just added to the list by clicking it and then clicking the minus ("-") button.
  7. Close Spotlight preferences.
