I have VMware Fusion installed, which hosts virtual machine bundles in Documents/Virtual Machines. I don't want the contents of the bundles showing up in All My Files in Finder so I added the Virtual Machines folder to Spotlight's Privacy list. But the files are still showing up in All My Files.

Any ideas, anyone? Thanks.

Try forcing a re-index of Spotlight by copying and pasting the following line into terminal:

sudo mdutil -E /

Many thanks. That did the trick. The files didn't automatically disappear from Finder, but after a reboot they're now gone from All My Files.
